Old beer kit I got when bought the Grainfather.

Tasty Table Beer - TMM - £37

Brewing this early on a Sunday morning in January. Waiting for it to get light outside (07:15)

Batch size: 23L

OG: 1042

FG: 1011

ABV: 3.8

IBU: 26

4.66kg of grain

(Grain weights in kg * 2.7) + 3.5 = mash water in L

water needed in mash is: 16litres

Water treatment

AMS (CRS) / Lactic acid: 24ml for 20 litres (I added 20ml) DWB: 10g for 20 litres in the mash

Mash

0840 started the mash at 67 for 1 hour

-2.4 outside temp, and the grainfather power tripping. Turn off and on again fixes it.

Frosty morning and boiling water using gas as I have the left over from BIAB. May as well use the gas to heat the water.

Sparge

(28 - mash water in L) + (grain bill in kg * 0.8) = sparge water vol in L

Added 15 litres of water

Boil

1 hour

60min Magnum 6g

20min hop stand at 80degrees 20g Citra 20g Mosaic 10g Cascade 10g Chiniik

Ferment

Got 1056 as FG so added a few litres of water so it will be around maybe 1048? Got to 23 litres and 1056 was at 21 litres

at 18degrees

1024 approx on 1st Feb. got a problem with fermenter - can’t see bubbles..hole too big I drilled perhaps.

2.5 weeks. and fermentation at 1012. perfect. however my sight glass was showing 1020 / 1024

Dry Hop

9th Feb at 1400 at 14 degrees for 2 days

Using tights and steralised marble.

Was okay… but didn’t last long. Classic oxygenation problem of neipa.
