Working on process

  • starsan bucket to dip everything into
  • 0.5 campden tablet in grainfather and 0.5 in sparge water header to get rid of chlorine and chloromine

Brewfather recipe

Water Profile

  • AMS (Acid Malt Solution) - 0.2ml per litre. (this tallies with longman who did equivalent of 3.3ml) so 4ml for 20 litres
  • DWB (Dry Water Builder) - 2g per 10litres. so 2.1g (as longman went higher). so 4g

Am doing a split batch of 2 * 10 litres to test out hop additions

  • protein rest at 52 for 30 mins (started at 0945 .. 1040… so did 55 mins)
  • beta amalyse at 63 for 30 mins (1040 to 1125… so did 45 min)
  • asdf at 73 for 30 mins (1125 - 1155… so did 30mins)
  • mashout at 78 for 10 mins (finish at 1220)

Boil

1250 on the boil

  • 23g Tettnang at 60 mins

  • 1 Protofloc at 15 mins

  • 15g Tettnang at 10 mins

  • no extra hops in batch A

  • 10g of EKG in batch B (so going to 1.3g/litre ish)

Hopstand for 20mins

Ferment

OG was 1048

19 degrees on fridge.
